Study clarinet in a friendly, personalized learning environment: From beginning to advanced levels, I adapt my teaching to suit each student. Everyone is taught the same core foundation of good playing habits, but with an understanding that students learn at different paces and with individualized approaches.

Experiment with different musical genres: Students in private lessons will have opportunities to study not just band music, but clarinet repertoire of classical, folk, and jazz eras.

Develop a lifelong love of learning: The study of music is a "long game" endeavor. While I strive to make my students great performers, my real goal is to make them excellent learners. Students will be taught to make the most of their practice time, challenged to invent their own practice techniques, and pushed to engage themselves in "productive struggle" by tackling difficult music.

Take part in performances in your community: Particularly during the winter holiday season, I regularly invite students to perform at local hospitals, nursing homes, and church events.

Get the absolute most out of your music education: Being a band kid is fun and rewarding in itself, but receiving private lessons is the best way to reach one's full playing potential. As I tell my current students, "It's fun to be good!"
